Default Can this work for a hackintosh

    Hey all,
I am new to hackintosh's and have a rig that i want to convert to a mac. I have a macbook pro and a macbook and just prefer OSX vs Windows. Would this setup work? What is the best way to get osx loaded? I used the lifehacker.com guide but I failed.

    Hi,
What you've got there looks very nice, and should perform well under OSX. What flavor of OSX are you trying? There are quite a few different methods to install OSX, and it depends on your preference.
    Regards,

I would prefer to use SL since I'm using it on my macbook and have a macbook pro on order with sl. I'm not against using regular leopard though. I just really want to be able to use OSX. I think i still have a leopard disc from when i upgraded on my original macbook.

I've tried to read about anyone using a p45 mobo but haven't had much luck. I'm fairly new to hackintosh's so any help would be great.

Yes, Whatever you prefer. I have a P43, a bit different compared to P45. I think there are lots of people with P45 board.

Is anyone out there running an MSI p45neo that can help me with the bios settings. I really want this to work but I'm a noob and don't know much about the hackintosh procedures.

    Hi,
P43 and P45 essentially different in south bridge chipsets, ICH10 vs ICH10R mostly, and that is not much to concern in term of OSX installation. You may just need to set SATA to AHCI in your BIOS, and the rest could be at default unless there is error.
Where did you setup fail? Any error message recorded?
    Cheers,

I have the raid mode to "AHCI" that's the only place i can change it. i followed the guide from lifehacker How to Build a Hackintosh with Snow Leopard, Start to Finish - Hackintosh - Lifehacker.

right now I'm able to boot from the usb and start the install but i get the error.

"Panic(cpu 0 caller 0xffffff80002bfb6f): "Should have 2 Threads, but only found 3 for the Die 1"@/sourcecache/xnu/xnu-1456.1.25/osfmk/i386/cpu_threads.c:1131
    Debugger called: <Panic>
Backtrace (CPU 0), Frame : Return Address

Kernel Extensions in backtrace (with dependencies)

I'm kinda stuck there at the moment. I've searched for that error on the net but never found anything.

    Hi,
    If you try boot options
    -x -v cpus=1 (or 4)

Will it still get that KP?

When your chameleon bootloader counts down with a blue bar, press any key, and type those commands in.
