Default Can someone HELP ME!!! ...tad bit frustrated

    Hello everyone!

I have been going crazy trying to install Snow Leopard on my HP Probook 4520s. Here are the specs

    Core i5 M430
    4Gb of DDR 3 Ram
    ATI Radeon HD 4350

I currently have Windows 7 Pro 32 bit installed and I have a 500Gb HD. So I partitioned 100Gb of it to install OS X. I boot off my Hazard Snow Leopard disc (by the way I have to type the following command just to get into the install)

-v busratio=20 cpus=1 <------- I have no idea if that may be part of the problem but its the only way I can get in

Anyway, I go in disk utility and I format the partition I made to OSX Journaled

    - And I customize the install and I choose all the options that apply to me

    - The install says its completed successfully. So I reboot

    - Then nothing happens, It goes to a black screen and it sits and does nothing.

    - My WIndows 7 MBR gets removed so I have to either repair it with my windows disk or I can use a boot loader disc

    - I have tried the boot loader disc to get into the OSX install but I just get back to that blank screen and I have tried

    -v

    -v -x -x32

    -s

    -v busratio=20 cpus=1

and nothing.... please help me SOMEONE, I reaaaaaaaallly reaaaaaaaaallly want to start using OSX on my laptop.

Any help would be super apreciated!

    Thanks again

    - oh and my name is James

    Cheers

You should post the screenshot so we can see what the kernel panic says..
So boot with -v -f and post the screenshot when it stop scrolling..

I have the Hazard version of 10.6

Does anyone have any links to other versions of 10.6 that I can torrent?

And I have tried all versions of chameleon and none work. Would it be helpfull if I made a video of the whole install? and you can see whats up?

try boot with the distro disk and run disk utility to verify your installation disk..
    and then reboot to SnowLep..

edit: i should say chameleon RC3 in previous post not rc2..

and the video is good idea too.

edit2: i read this is common problem on laptops, and if you have to re-install next time, try not select any patched video/graphics kexts/driver..

Swordman I really appreciate all the help. But I am sorry to say it failed again

I formatted the partition and reinstalled

and I didn't check off anything! and I still have the same problem.

I am going to try installing Leopard instead of Snow Leopard

and I will see if that will work.

    I will post my progress!

    Cheers

Thanks Xtremedesign. I am burning the ISO as we speak. I will post later if I have success or not.

Does anybody remember that show "Mission Hill" ?

I kind of feel like the Asian kid "George" trying to install that game...and he finally thinks hes got it then the computer spits the disc out.

    Yup that's me right now!
