Is the ASUS 1215N Compatible?
Hey guys, nice to be part of this nice forum!
I will be trying to invest some of my time by starting to develope apps and games for iDevices. I want to install the Hackintosh on my netbooky. Am i able to do this ? Is it compatible ? Would i have nice performance?
Here you got the specs of the ASUS 1215N:
Intel Atom Dual Core D525 @ 1.8Ghz
RAM 2x2GB DDR3 1066Mhz
Ion2 Platform with Optimus
Would be nice to install a 64bit Leopard in order to get the 4GB availability, since im using Windows 7 32bit now, i can only use 2,74GB/4GB installed... pitty........
Thanks in advance,
Does anyone knows ?
Which version of Windows is installed doesn't matter if they're installing OSx86. It only matters for how much RAM they're able to use. 32-bit operating systems can use up to 3.5GB of RAM. If I'm correct OSX Leopard and up are 32/64-bt, so it's both, meaning msqAR's computer can run it, because the processor is dual-core (I own this netbook).
Anyway, to answer your question, the Asus 1215N is indeed OSx86 compatible, due to the predecessor having less compatible tech, and still being hackintosh-able. I have yet to find a way to install OSx86, but I'm going to continue to try different bootable images. iPortable gets to the bootloader screen, but can't get past the loading screen (either stops loading or gets an immediate kernel panic). I've yet to try iPC or Kalyway, but those may work. I'm also going to try Hazard's build.
You might want to look around at the Insanely Mac forums. They seem to know a bit more about this subject matter, and also seem to be more willing to help (I've never even gotten a response on this site).
