    Default Aspire Timeline 1410/1810/1810TZ

    I got a install SL 10.6.0 to work today on my 1810tz today.

    So a fast guide:

    Get a retail dvd,
    Get myHack or something

    with myhack:

    ->com.apple.boot.plist
    ->graphic disabler
    ->chocolate kernel (for the installer, you can boot vanilla kernel after the install)
    ->Apple ps2 controller
    ->Evoreboot
    ->ionetworking
    ->legacyapplertc
    ->NULLcpupower...
    ->Sleep enabler

    i think that's all

    to fix:
    audio
    cpu power management
    generate dsdt for this model
    replace wi-fi card
    Apple fix comming for the graphic card, so i guess soon we will have QE. Just wait for the new macbook pro.

    Experience:

    Processor (SU4100 - Penryn) is detected correctly as a Intel Core 2 Duo.

    Some problems occur but i think they are simple to solve:

    1st) When the installer says 10 minutes are missing to the end, it gives an error in the installation reporting that it can't prepare the disk to boot.(i guess is because i am installing in a extended partition).

    I made through it and tried it, not caring about the error, and the system is booting correctly!

    2nd)resolution is 1024x768x32 just edit com.apple.Boot.plist to 1366x768x32 and it goes allright.

    I will give more feedback, when i have time to backup and remove the Windows recovery partition, so i make a GPT and start installing everything from clean.

    I will get back to this in 3/4 days.

    I am loving this notebook!

    Hi again,

    No great feedback but i will leave some info.

    Right now i am using the following kext's:

    AtherosL1cEthernet
    EvOreboot.kext
    FakeSMC.kext
    IONetworkingFamily.kext
    Voodohda
    voodops2

    I have built a dsdt for this laptop. I have changed RTC code, enabled code as running Windows Vista, to enable most functions, HPET (i am running AppleIntelCpuPowerManagement.kext)

    Right now i can't achieve support for:

    Battery Metter
    Sleep ?!
    Display Dim (LIDO ?)

    This Acer DSDT is very HUGE! really i have been comparing it to my macbook to try to trick some devices names but no success.

    For example on the ACER the baterry device is BAT1 , and on the macbook is SMB0.

    this is what i have on the battery code after changes

    Code:
     Device (SMB0)
            {
                Name (_HID, "ACPI0001")
                Name (_EC,0x2010)
                Mutex(SMTX, 0x00)
                Method (_STA, 0, NotSerialized)
                {
                        Return (0x0F)

                }
            }
    The Original Code:

    Code:

    Device (BAT1)
            {
                Name (CBTI, Zero)
                Name (PBTI, Zero)
                Name (BTIN, Zero)
                Name (BTCH, Zero)
                Name (BIFI, Zero)
                Name (SEL0, Zero)
                Name (BCRI, Zero)
                Name (PBIF, Package (0x0D)
                {
                    One,
                    0x1130,
                    0x1130,
                    One,
                    0x2B5C,
                    0x012C,
                    0x84,
                    0x20,
                    0x20,
                    "BAT1      ",
                    "11        ",
                    "11        ",
                    "11        "
                })
                Name (PBST, Package (0x04)
                {
                    Zero,
                    Ones,
                    Ones,
                    0x2710
                })

                Name (ERRC, Zero)
                Name (_HID, EisaId ("PNP0C0A"))
                Name (_UID, Zero)
                Method (_STA, 0, NotSerialized)
                {
                    If (BTIN)
                    {
                        Return (0x1F)
                    }
                    Else
                    {
                        Return (0x0F)
                    }
                }
    ...
    I apreciate some help regarding the battery issue. Thanks.

    Yes thanks for sharing hopefully it will help others with this same model and good job . Okay now about DSDT I'm not really clear about somethings. First why did you have to enable code for Vista it wasn't there? Usually the one that is missing is Windows 7. Also about the battery I'm not understanding your first code when compared to the original, are you implementing something else somewhere that you didn't mention? For the battery you can try using this with the default code:

    Code:
    Name (_PRW, Package (0x02)
    {
        0x18,
        0x03
    })

    add it under UID.
