Alienware M17X Hackintosh build?
Hey guys,
Is it possible to Hackintosh the new i7/Core 2 duo (preferrably i7) Alienware M17X Laptops?
Here's the specs:
-Intel® Core™ i7 620M 2.66 GHz
-1GB ATI Radeon™ Mobility HD 5870 -Or maybe the Dual 1GB ATI Radeon™ Mobility HD 4870 in CrossfireX™
-4GB Dual Channel DDR3 at 1066MHz (RAM)
-250GB 7,200RPM SATA-II HDD
It would truly save my life if you guys could help me
Thanks a million!

Thanks for the help Meikrekel, so does that mean if I choose the Dual 4870's, I can/should be able to install Snow Leopard/Leopard on it?

The starting price of that Alienware M17X is 1,799, sup with the upgrades u talkin bout i say liek $2000 at the lowest. you should just buy a mac book pro then put windows 7 on that.
But yea the 5xxx series aint supported yet i dont think. im trying to just install leopard and the 4xxx series isnt supported( i got a 4850) so i cant even log on to the OS cuz the screen goes blurry.

I see all of your points, so final question:
Should I buy an i7 Macbook Pro 15'' or an Alienware M17x? (Both are about the same price)
Thanks a lot guys

Considering you wanted an alienware that means ur an extremly heavy gamer, and i dont know much about MAC OS x's but not every game works with the Mac OS. But if you duel boot Mac OS X and Windows 7 you could play ur games on w7.
If you plan on dual booting- Mac Book
Playing games- alienware

Well, I'm not an avid gamer so to speak. I just like/want to play games like Left 4 Dead 2 and all the Crysis' (Including Crysis 2) etc in High/Ultra Graphics mode with no lag as well as get creative work done on a Mac. If I do get a MBP, I will be dual booting into Win 7, but I'm just wondering weather the graphics card can churn out Crysis 2 at all!
