Acer Revo 3610 - Snow Leopard
Right just got myself an Acer Revo 3610, it has the following specs:
- nVidia ION Chipset
- Intel Atom 330 Dual Core CPU
- nVidia 9400M Integrated Graphics
- Realtek ALC662 Audio
- HDMI Port
- Atheros AR5007EG B/G Wireless Adapter (mini PCI-E)
- nVidia Network Controller
After doing allot of research I have found everything will work apart from the Audio over HDMI and the Wireless Card. This is fine as I can just purchase a new wireless card.
Next questions are relating to Installing Snow Leopard:
Question One:
Can I install using a genuine untouched Snow Leopard DVD? If not what steps do I have to take to install Snow Leopard? I am currently running Windows 7.
Question Two:
I only have an external dvd drive for the acer (there is no internal optical drive) Is it possible to copy the content of the Snow Leopard DVD to a USB Pen (16gb) in Windows 7 and boot from that?
Any info on the above questions would be great

Answer One
If you don't have a Mac, you could try using the empire efi, burn it to a disc and then boot from that, and then boot into the snow leo disc. try either the empire efi 1.085 R2 legacy boot CD or regular 1.085 (not R2). the regular 1.085 worked on my Revo 1600.
Answer Two
Possibly. The way I would do it would be to get some kind of ISO imager software to create a disk image of the snow leo dvd and then find a program that would restore that image to the usb drive. but doing that in windows would be tricky
If you could get the empire efi to work, I would recommend doing that. then when you have installed snow leo, you could make a snow leo usb install drive using snow leo's disk utility app.
Once you have gotten snow leopard on you revo, i would recommend checking out the myHack installer.
Now I have a question for YOU
How do you plan to get ALC662 audio to work?
