Have you tried to set BIOS back to IDE with those mentioned boot options to see?

Yes, I did. I couldn't read them very well, maybe my eyesight is the problem instead

Did you change SATA back to IDE and try mentioned boot options?

From what it read, the line said KP related to task: unknown.

I haven't tried that yet. I've made some progress. If booting from external dvd drive, the installer only runs if I use the option to ignore cache (pressing down and then choosing the one that has an f icon. If I try -v -f it doesn't boot, can't remember the error message. But I have found it consistent in booting if I did it that way (only tried it twice, both times it loaded).

If I try the same with the drive in the internal drive, it doesn't work. I get the grey apple screen but no spinning wheel, and the disk stops spinning.

When I did load it via external usb, as soon as I begin installing, it says 18 minutes left, the progress bar gets to about 5% and then it just stops, the LED on the drive is constantly lit, but it seems nothing is happening. Will try again.

My goal now though is to dual boot. If I disable ahci and use ide would windows 7 load?

For dual booting, have you prepared for boot system? OSX partition is Primary type? Otherwise when OSX finish loading onto a logical partition, Chameleon can't boot OSX and you can not go back to windows without repairing. On a primary partition, Chameleon could boot both of your OS's.

Win7: can work in both modes, but depends on which mode it was installed and may need repair/driver for mode changing. But that could be later as you can always reset BIOS prior to booting.

Whatever can get OSX installed would be good: there is a clue when it stop. The DVD/iso/media may have some problem as that process there is just file copying mostly. I would recheck the iso or reburn the DVD at the slowest speed and try again as this is very easy step to eliminate the possibility.

Also a clean installation would be better. So clear the partition with disk utility first to ensure better file copying process.

I successfully installed. Although it's not clean, I do -v and other options, aometimes it just seems to hang on the writing on the screen. It did boot once, but it said that the keyboard wasn't connected, and that I have to connect to continue.

I didn't check the box that said ps/2 keyboard and ps/2 mouse in teh customise options, could that be it?

If so, is there a way to add from the dvd onto the partition without having to go through install and checking all those boxes again? Like a drag and drop?

I have a software called macdrive 8 that lets me browse and write to the mac partition, but it doesn't recognise the iatkos as a mac cd so I have no access to the kext there

That DVD is hybrid-ISO, very rough.

    PS2 is in custom options.

You also could download it as well. VoodooPS2controller.pkg version 0.98

Well done for got it in.
Use USB for temporary system repair and kext installing.

If you could use USB keyboard/mouse to boot into OSX, then just click that package to install. If you could unpack it, then put it in /S/L/E or /E. Reboot with -f to rebuild kext cache.
