    Post XPS m1530: Can't Find Keyboard/Mouse

Hello all, this is my first post and like many others I have come here for help. I have already attempted installation twice using iPC OSX86 10.5.6 Universal PPF5 Final. I am attempting to dual boot with Windows 7. First attempt didn't work because I forgot to customize the install, doh! So I fixed my boot sector, re formatted the OS X partition so I could start over. Second attempt I got into OS X setup, formatted the drive, and customized the install using these options:

    iPC OSx86 10.5.6 Base System

    ▼ iPC OSx86 10.5.6 Intel AMD SSE2 SSE3

    Drivers

Video Driver: NVinject 0.2.1 256MB VRAM

    Chipset Driver: LegacyApplelntelPIIXATA

    Audio Driver: Sigmatel 9228

    Ethernet Driver: None

    Wireless Driver: Intel PROSet/Wireless 4965

Applications: OSx86 Tools Utility, NTFS 3-G + MacFUSE

Here is a link to the complete driver list for this distro: iPC OSx86 10.5.6 Final PPF5 Complete driver list. | OSX86

I then proceeded with installation, let it finish, rebooted and first screen I was presented with once it was finished was: Keyboard not found/recognized

I also noticed that I couldn't move my mouse cursor around either.

My system configuration is as follows:

    Chip Set: Mobile Intel 965PM
    Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T7500 @ 2.2GHz
    NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT
    Sigmatel STAC9228
Marvell Yukon 88E8040 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller
    Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN
    4GB Ram

I'm hoping someone in here is knowledgeable enough to be able to help me out with my installation woes, or even someone else who has possibly ran into this problem. I tried to find a guide tailored directly towards the m1530, but didn't have much luck finding a straightforward one. I have installed OS X before on a desktop, but that was back in the 10.4 days and wasn't nearly the challenge that this is becoming. I feel like I'm close to having a working system and hope it is just a small fix to get this up and running.

Also wanted to say, that I have searched quite a bit here on the forums, but haven't found someone with my model of laptop exactly. I did find quite a few posts with this same problem, and also found alot of suggestions to fix it, and solutions that worked for some. I didn't want people to get the wrong idea and think I hadn't tried to search. I just posted this in the hopes that someone with a similar model laptop would see it and be able to give me specific instructions on how they were able to get it working or that someone knowledgeable with the iPC 10.5.6 install would know where I was going wrong.

    Thanks.

I will post up a full set of steps that I took to get this working as soon as I get the wireless issue sorted out and also possibly the wired ethernet, if I can get those two working then it will be 100% (except fingerprint scanner).

Thanks for the heads up on the sticky thread.

Haven't been able to find any working kext for the wireless card, also don't have much hope for a working one based on what I have read. It looks like people have been trying to get the Intel 4965 and it's predecessors working for a few years now, with not much luck.

I am going to purchase a replacement card isntead, not sure which one will work best so it's off to research a bit more.
