    Red face what distribution would work on compaq presario v3000?

    hello,

    im curious about the hackintosh and would like to turn my notebook into one, what installation/version should i get?

    has anyone tried installing on a presario v3000? (specifically the v3304TU)

    the specs for this 2y.o. laptop:

    model: presario v3304TU
    Intel Core2Duo T5500 – 1.66GHz
    Mobile Intel 945GM Express Chipset
    Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950
    Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG
    Conexant HD SmartAudio HD2
    Ricoh 5-in-1 card reader
    Matshita DVD drive
    (do hope these things would function well)

    i read that common problem with hackintosh is that the wifi often doesnt work, i hope this isnt true for this spec...

    Go for iPC or iDeneb

    I just installed iDeneb 1.4 into my Compaq Presario v3000 (V3213TU). These are the patches I selected:

    1. Audio: AppleAzaliaAudio
    2. Fix: Battery Manager
    3. Video: Intel GMA950


    I couldn't get the wireless card to work. I tried with both Tiger-IO80211 and Broadcom but with no avail. DVD doesn't work either. On the other hand the sound controls on the keyboard worked since the beginning. For the rest, it is quite stable.

    Default Sleep problems

    Have installed ideneb OS X10.5.5 on presario v5000 (5102tu) with similar specs, but with centrino duo T2300@1.6.

    Installs fine and seems most things work including cd/dvd, but not intel pro wireless 3945.

    My problem is that it goes into sleep mode repeatedly. If i have a cd in the drive it takes about 30 to sleep if i don't it sleeps immediately after waking.

    Anyone have a solution?
