Unhappy What am I doing wrong

    Hi,

I must say, I have no idea what I'm doing. This is my first try of getting OS X on a pc.

I have an original OS X Leopard cd. And I'm using a Darwin boot disk (BOOT-132).

It all boots fine, Darwin boots and I put in the OS X cd. But when I hit enter (even with the -v option), it asks me about which drive to boot from, and I just hit enter (I hope that's ok).

There is no error message what so ever. I get the rotating -, and the pc just reboots.
I have no idea what I'm doing wrong, because there is no message what so ever.

I also tried that -1cpus option, and same problem.

Could someone help me with this? Please?
I added some CPU-Z screenshots (just ask if you need to know more).

I have an ATI chipset video card (ATI Radeon HD 3800 Series Windows reports me).

Personally I would grab one of the latest disks such as ideneb 10.5.6, iatkos 10.5.6 or xXx 10.5.6 as they are loaded with all the drivers and tweaks needed.
Then it's just a matter of selecting the right stuff.

Will Apple updates, etc... also work with those versions? I read that it's better to use the original cd, so you can use the update feature.

Of course. The only issue you have is when there is a point release such as 10.5.7, but there is a script you can run and then install that or with the new disabler.kext it should just install without issue.

You have an intel chip so you'll be using the vanilla kernel anyways.

I just installed xXx 10.5.6 last night. I know exactly what options to select for my hardware and 30 minutes later I have a fully functional system and ran the updates just fine.
Well not fully functional, restart and sleep don't work but that's not really an issue.
