Toshiba wont boot install disc
Hi guys,
I'm trying to install Mac Os X onto my Toshiba A500/02j, but i cant seem to be able to boot the install disc.
I have tried to use:
iDeneb 1.5.1
Snow_Leopard_10.6.1-10.6.2_SSE2_SSE3_Intel_AMD_by_Hazard
I've also tried to use iBoot and then load the distro disc, but still to no avail.
Here's my issue:
I've made a partition for the installation, and sorted out all preliminary steps.
When i change my boot order to the DVD drive, it recognises the distro disc, and asks me for the method of booting. I've tried booting it as is, tried it with "-v", "-s", "cpus=1", etc, and any other combination.
As soon as the disc boots, i briefly see the grey screen with the white apple logo. Shortly thereafter the computer reboots, and goes back to the boot menu.
If you would like some computer hardware specs:
Toshiba A500-02j
Computer model: PSAR9A-02J001
GFX Card: nVidia geForce GT 330m
Processor: Intel i5 430 2.27ghz
RAM: 4gb
Not sure what the motherboard is.
Thanks for reading!

hi,
have you try adding "-x32" or/and "busratio=17"(or other busratio, maybe). But first ,set your bios setting right, like ACPI enable.
Check if SATA set to AHCI in bios..

Thanks for the reply swordsman
I'll try mentioned above.
I've set my SATA to AHCI.

tried it with -x32 and restarts the laptop a second later.
busratio=17 allows it to go on a little further, white screen, apple logo, and the little spinning circle underneath it. It does that for about 30 seconds, then a circle with a strikethrough apears.

Same laptop model.
Hey there!
I have the same laptop model as you and looking to convert it into a mac as well. Just wondering how you went with yours and if you had any problems with drivers?
