    Default Some OSx86 advice

    Hello there, Hackintosh users

For the last few days I'v been busy getting Macintosh to work on my Sony VAIO laptop. Not with the success I hoped for though.
I have been using iATKOS V5i so far, but all the help I'm trying to find dictates from 2006/07.
Would it be wise for me to try out V7 maybe? Do I benefit alot from it?

Because the major thing that bothered me was the resolution, I couldnt get it up to my 1600x900 screen reso.
Also the sound didnt work, nor the WiFi.

Any tips would be wonderfull, thanks in advance

Thanks for the fast reply Icchansan!
After the research I did, I noticed that alot of other people had the same issue... the Radeon 3400 series seem to be an obstacle
Also the WiFi I can understand, and I can live without it for now

But what would I(or any other person) profit from V7 of iATKOS?
Does it just come with more drivers pre-loaded, if so, could I look them up?

In a side note, I'v been trying to get some other 'minor' things to work, but failed horribly
I tried installing a PowerManagement .kext. (link) Without any results what so ever.. I must be doing it wrong, eventho I used Kext Helper
Same goes for the sound.. The Mac system says there hasnt been a driver installed for that

Well iAtkos v5 or v7 has a really good way to install, is easy and you can always update like a real mac, but without full video support I think, and this is my personal opinion, that OSX is not for that lappy.

If you wanna try OSX on a laptop check the HCL or trying buying a netbook like MSI wind or Dell one, google it for more info.

    Hope it help

To be honest, I'm not going to buy another laptop, just to run Macintosh on it, I might aswell get an apple then
The thing for me is to get Mac working on my current laptop and eventually to make it work flawless.

I do know I have to wait it out for the WiFi and Graphics drivers, but I'll keep my hopes up and check back regularly!

Also I'll stick with iATKOS V5i, because if I read your posts I don't actually benefit anything from a new install

Default any adivce for acer user?

ok im at a total loss here help from anyone at this point would be great. i just got, yesterday, a acer aspire one AO715h because manly it was a frikkin deal at my local store. now, i have an eeepc which i installed ipc 10.5.6 onto with no problems, well apart from experimenting. But what im saying is is im not a newbie (now anyway lol) to installing OS X on something else.

therte was a TON of stuff out there about the eeepc and os x but there seems to be very little about the acers. so i have seen that it has been done, but i'll be damned if i can get it to work. so far tried ideneb 1.4, ipc 10.5.6, iatokos_v7, used the cpus=1 on booting from the cd. but as far as i get is the grey apple logo screen and thats it. ive searched and tried this method and that method. im about to give up and take it back to the shop and get something i know i can install os x onto. this is a GREAT netbook, especially at the price i got it for, the full sized keyboard and the big HD screen are awesome.

but i really want os x on it. so after that diatribe i guess my question for everyone/anyone is can it be done on my acer? any pointers, links anything would be gratefully appreciated
