using iPC X-DL 10.5.6

the last string that appears before "still waiting for root device" is ERROR: FireWire unable to determine security-mode; defaulting to to full-secure

the installation process goes perfectly. and this laptop is perfect for OS X because all of my hardware has driver support for OS X.

once i reboot after a successful installation and boot for the first time i get that stupid error.

i tried 2 different boot loaders and selected some kind of firewire driver the 2nd time i tried this hopeing i could bypass the hang.

gunna try to reinstall again with any tips i get from you guys. and if that doesnt work, then i have a shotgun in my closet.

Do not add a firewire kext.
