Routine Maintenance on Hackintosh
What types of software are people using for routine maintenance procedures on your Hackintosh.
As a long-time Mac user, I've always run Disk Doctor off the original boot installation CD to deal with any corrupt files and repairs that needed to be made. Usually DD will solve the problem, but in some cases when it can't, I use Disk Warrior to solve the problem. I also like to defragment my Boot HDD periodically.
It occurred to me that these routines may not be possible with my new Hackintosh. I have the retail version of Leopard, but after installing all the modified Kext files, I can't imagine using it to boot off of for disk doctor maintenance.
Can anyone share their experiences with routine maintenance of their hackintosh, and what software programs are available?
Thanks in advance for all your help.
Cheers,
Ambrose

@Ambrose: I'm a big fan of Onyx. You can download the software from Apple's website. It has a lot of maitenance tools you can apply your Hackint0sh without harming it.

Thanks Wingzero619.
Does it have the ability to defragment your HDD.
This brings to mind another question. I don't know about PCs, but with Mac, you are required to boot off the CD/DVD with the maintenance utility you are using. For example, would I be able to boot off Disk Warrior into OSX? Is that even possible?
Wingzero619, do you boot Onyx off a CD/DVD, or do you have it installed on your HDD?
Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Onyx has all the routine maintenance programs you need to keep your hackintosh in tip top shape. You can download it from the Apple website. Search for keyword "onyx". Hope this helps.
