Default Re: Dell Dimension 9200 Vista and Snow Dual Boot

    Hi,

I am new and have searched for information but can't find the answers I want, please be gentle with me?

I have a dell dimension 9200 running vista.
    BIOS - DXP601 v 2.5.1
    Mother Board - Dell OCT017 Intel P965
    Processor - Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4ghz
    Memory - 4x1gb 4gb DDR2 PC2-5300 666mhz
Video - PCIe Nvidia GeForce 8600GTS
    DVD - LG Blu/DVD HL - DT - ST YL05
    Audio - 82801H
    Network - Intel 82566DC Gigabit

    This is my plan:-
Disconnect existing vista HDD (well both of them Raid)
    Install a separate 500gb HDD
Use Boot 123 CD to boot system
    Install retail Snow Leopard DVD
Restart PC into MacOS (I know it will probably not be quite that easy)
Once this is working I would then like to:-

Plug the vista hdd's back in and boot from vista.
Rather than changing the boot sequence each time I would like a dual boot menu to be displayed when I start the PC and boot into either vista or Mac OSX.

I am after a few tips to get me on the right road, can anyone see problems with my idea?

Thank you very much for taking time to reply.

    Steve.

    Edit...
Forgot to add I am thinking of using Easy BCD for the boot options.

Well so far after updating the bios to the latest version my vista system works fine, but after trying several versions of Boot 132 the installer refuses to start.

Only KDETECHBOOT132 came close, but then panic cpu error.

    Will not give up though!!!

I have done the same dual boot on my HP Pavilion p6310t running Snow Leopard OS and Windows 7 Ultimate. I used Rebel EFI bootloader to installed first SL in one Hard drive and after I finished installed it and just plug in the other hard drive with Windows 7 Ultimate. Now I boot up my PC with Rebel EFI and I can choose Snow Leopard or Win 7. In fact, I have done the same process with my Toshiba Laptop.
