Problem after update 10.5.7 on ACER Aspire ONE 150...
Hello,
My ACER Aspire ONE A150 was running fine under 10.5.6 (IPC distro), but I updated to 10.5.7 and now my computer is trying to boot again and again...
I guess the upgrade "breaks" something by replacing a working kext by a new one, but I don't know how to repair that.
Can someone help me ?
I'm not very used to linux (OSx)...
Any help welcome !
Fabrice.

Samething happened to me.
I didn't do an upgrade. My friend installed iPC 10.5.6 for me and it worked like a charm UNTIL I 5 mins later when I decided to download updates. According to him, the only thing to do in that case was to re-install AGAIN! We tried all of the boot options but no go.
Sorry, but looks like you will have to re-install UNLESS some one knows of an easy way to fix.

10.5.7 on Acer Aspire One AOA 150
Ok, not sure if this is going to help anyone but here's what I have so far...
I had 10.5.6 from iDeneb 1.4 (10.5.6) working perfectly. I also installed DoNotSleep.mpkg and GMA950.pkg which made my graphics work perfectly and enabled Quartz Extreme with the OSX86Tools.
I tried updating via AppleUpdate to 10.5.7 and got hosed pretty bad.
So I re-installed 10.5.6 from iDeneb, which worked, but obviously took me back to 10.5.6.
I downloaded the iDeneb 10.5.7 Combo Upgrade Kit (iDeneb.Combo.Upgrade.KIT.1057.dmg), run it and got into the dreaded reset loop after the install. There's two simple ways out of the reset loop:
1) during bootup hit a key and enter "anv"
or...
2) during bootup hit a key and enter "cpus=1"
Either will work and let you boot to desktop.
It'll be 10.5.7.
What you'll immediately notice is that your graphics are back to standard resolution 800x600. Also, you'll notice that USBkeys won't work anymore.
Reinstalling GMA950.pkg will do nothing... for some reason. Don't know why - no resolution yet.
Searching around on the web, I found that I'm supposed to reinstall the IOUSBFamily kext via OSX86Tools. I found the original kext, reinstalled and no luck. Doesn't work. Could be related to the fact that it's from a real Mac and not an iDeneb install, I have to try that - no resolution yet.
I also found some reference to having to reinstall "the video kexts" (other than the GMA950?). Not sure what is meant by that or what exactly I need. Need to test.
I'm hesitant to go back to 10.5.6 because I feel like I'm really damn close to a solution... it's just the graphics and usb... which works when reinstalling 10.5.6, but damn it, I have to figure this out!

Well... I found the solution.
First, you can make USB work again by downloading this repairpack and run it on your Mac:
RapidShare: 1-CLICK Web hosting - Easy Filehosting
Then the graphics, you download
http://www.enik.ch/PublicFiles/File/...E_V0.9.4.1.zip
Unzip it on your Mac, and use OSX86Tools to install the two kexts from the
MY_BUNDLE_V0.9.4.1 \ 10.5.7 \ kexts \ folder
Reboot and you're back in business... I haven't found anything that doesn't work after all that.
