What type to format partition to?

Hello there,

Trying to install Mac OS X 10.5.7 (iDeneb) on my MSI laptop. Ran fine just until I had to choose where I wanted to install OS X. I couldn't choose any of my partitions. They were all NTFS, but I formatted one of them to FAT32 with the Disk Utility, but still wasn't visible.

What I'm trying to get at, is that I would like to know what file system I need to change my partition to, so the installer can see it?

Also, if you could tell me which application I should use... As Windows can only format to NTFS and exFAT. I have Acronis Disk Director that can choose a whole bunch of different types.

When you boot from your installation dvd goto disk ultility and make the partition your wanting to install too Mac OS Extended (Journaled) then you can install to that partition.

Thank you, all working great now. I installed iDeneb and all, but now I get another problem. If I don't have the disk in, it doesn't do anything when I boot my computer. Just a black screen and then white text marker thingy. If I boot with my iDeneb DVD it'll just go through the entire installation process again... The first couple of times I booted my computer with the DVD, it said to restart my computer. And so I did, but it said it again. Now it doesn't say that anymore, it just goes to installing.

I also tried running in safe mode (-x) and that other -v command with the DVD... Still nothing. There didn't seem to be any errors when trying the -v command.

What can I do to boot into my now installed Mac OS X?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Did you install a bootloader? Like Chameleon 2 during install
