I am using a vaio laptop model number vgn-ar730e. I have attempted to install iatkos v5i on a new partition i created from my vista install. I ran the installer and the first time after reboot, it would not start, the grey loading screen would coming on but then the image with the different language instructions to restart your computer by holding down the power button would appear. I tried doing another install, but now it just hangs while installing. It gets to about 75percent and then it just freezes with the color wheel just running. I would like to know what custimation options do i use to get a fresh install running.
My processor is a intel core 2 duo t8100 2.1ghz
Nvidia gforce 8400m gt
blu ray disc drive
3g of ram
If anyone has help for me it is greatly appreciated. I am a noob, and all help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Eh how did you customize? Try with another distro cuz I think iatkos v5i, is a pain in the arse for laptops, try iPC or Idebeb ;P always check the official sites to know the basics
i am downloading ideneb v1.4 with 10.5.6 now, i will post back after trying to install the distro. How do i check the checksum number against the disc itself? What type of customization options should i install in your opinion. Any Help will greatly be appreciated.
I'm curious to know of your results as well. I've got a spare VGN-C290 laying around that would make a good hackint0sh
I tried installing with ideneb v1.4, it seems as though after reboot that it is starting to load, but then the grey apple screen shuts off and it goes dark, i dont know what custom settings i should be selecting, the only settings i selected were the main install, 9.5.0 Voodoo kernel, and nvidia NVdarwin 1.2.5. those are the only setting i have selected, please help with some custimization options that you may have that can help with a clean install.
any help would be greatly appreciated, and many thanks in advance. I dont know what video driver to use, since after restart the grey screen appears and seems like it will be loading, but then it goes black. The hard drive seems to be working but then it stops and it screen is still dark.
i have an vaio fw series and yes it's a pain, i still cant install iATKOS 5i. it starts installing then like 80% it locks up, restarts and won't boot.... meh, any ideas icchansan? (he da man XD)
i put voodoo, the ati graphics 3xxx hd and the acpi x86 thing... dont know exact name. what's the difference between iATKOS and Ideneb? can Ideneb also update like iATKOS? thanks.

I waited from 20min to 6hrs and nothing changed, but it seemed as though the harddrive was spinning at some point in the first 15 -20 min. I think it could be the nvidia kernels i select, but i have selected everything from nvkush, nvinjet, and nvdarwin, but with no luck. I tried porting the screen to my lcd tv but it just stayed blue screened. i dont know what the problem is or what custom options i should select.
You guys use iPC, and please read the info about the distro in the official site
