After countless "Still waiting for root device" error messages while trying a retail 10.5.6 install, I tried 10.5.1 (pretty much out of desperation) and saw "Still waiting for root device" no more!

After countless "Still waiting for root device" error messages while trying a retail 10.5.6 install, I tried 10.5.1 (pretty much out of desperation) and saw "Still waiting for root device" no more!
it is due to a sata controller driver.
if it's present on the install DVD, no "still waiting for root device".
if it's not present on the install DVD, you get that error.
custom boot132 dvd would fix that.
So I guess 10.5.1.has the driver and 10.5.6 does not.
