I'm trying to install OS, need help, will boot from disc but will not allow installation

Please post your full specs, No links, check the HCL too

Intel Core 2 Duo T5550
4GB Ram (800mHz)
Generic Intel Chipset Video Card

I can get my computer to boot from the OS disc, although, when I try to format or start loading the OS, it errors out saying that here is an incorrect format on the partition.

The partition format should be Extended Journaled... which one are you trying?

I always get a HSF+ partition error (or something like that)

the odd thing is i'm trying to install it on a fresh hard drive with no partitions at all.

I have fixed the HSF+ problem. But now, after install, after the post, it boots to a black screen. I don't know if it is a driver issue or what it is.

it have to be your Video Card.. what is it? did you try using safe mode?

How do I boot using safe mode. the video card is one that is generic and comes standard on a laptop. It says that it is an "intel graphics card" no specifics.

I found that the video card is an "Intel r965 express chipset family"
