MAC OSX Version 10.5.2 (iAtk*s 2.0i)

Hi, i hope this is the right area to post this. I have had to reload my machine 3 times so far with this problem.

The Mac Update pics up the Official Mac Combo update to install on the system. I have followed 3 different websites when installing this update, but all three have led to the update being applied and then the laptop hanging on the grey apple screen stating it cannot find a ktxt file.

Is there a difinitive guide that anyone knows of to apply the apple update without it destroying the iAT***s Platform??

Any Help will be appreciated.

Hi Jaybird, are you using vanilla? :fail

i believe i am, i haven't changed the kernal that came with the download. However, i am starting to become concerned that i cannot find any disable option within the firewall options of this version i am running - i am trying to use noobProof but it states disable Firewall to run.....

If your using vanilla try this: Updating

If your using another kernel you need to reinstall your kernel before rebooting the system, good luck

cool, if i follow that guide, does it mean that i need to find a backup of a vanila kernal?? cheers

Just if your using another kernel, if your using vanilla you'll be ok

before i do it can i just ask how you backup the libs and is there anywhere i can check on the mac sys to see what kernal i am using, i am so sorry for all the questions, i am a total noob :(

Backup your extension folder: /System/Library/Extensions/

to know whats your kernel, open terminal and type:

And post the results.

Your using ToH kernel, so before updating backup your kernel to your desktop for example, and follow the guide, before you restart just reinstall your kernel, for this you can use osx86tools.

P.S. or you can try another kernel like voodoo but still beta.

P.S2. Can you tell me your specs before trying another kernel?
