Leopard install does not Recognize my SATA

Hello,

First of all, this is my first post. And I apreciate any help. I searched for something similar, but nothing answered my problem.

I'm trying to install Leopard iATKOS v5 on my desktop, but it does not see my SATA driver. It (installer) boots normally, but on disk utility only my IDE disk is shown.
I have already tried to enable AHCI (is it?) of SATA compatibility, but it didn't work.
My system configuration:
1) P5VD2-X Asus motherboard
2) Pentium Dual Core 3.0Gz
3) 3Gb RAM DDR 533Mhz
4) 1 HD 250 Gb SATA
5) 1 HD 200 Gb IDE
6) nVidia GeForce 7300 GT

THe motherboard has jMicron, but I never used it and never installed anithying related, on boot it says no drives found.

I need Leopard Installed on my SATA drive....

Do anybody have any clue on how do I have my Leopard running ? PLEASE....

Try use a USB DVD Driver to install OSX there.

I was navigating through BIOS setup when I found an option that I never selected because I don't have RAID on my computer.

The option is:

SATA Controller Mode [IDE or SATA]

The default is IDE and it was like this ever since. I have Ubuntu installed and when this option is activated to SATA, there is an advise on boot, about Linux Partitions ans SATA (I don't remember now, and I will not reboot my computer riht now).

Well.. nw, MacOS install sees my SATA HD, BUT.... it says that all partitions are unrecognizable (when I press the Verify button)...

I have 4 partitions, 2 Linux, 1 Linux SWAP and 1 (the foirst 40Gb) that I created unformatted for MacOS.

have booted my Linux install and everything's gone all right, but now I am a little afraid to install OSX and damage my partitions, since it says that it is unrecignizable...

So, I ask for you some help. What can I do... I just don't want to harm my data, there is a lot there and I don't want to loose...

in 100 other sites people have the same problem, they ask like we here, but nobody can or wont to answer the question.
i have hp notebook, sata controller makes the problem, people help!!!

I have the same problem. So I post here my specs, maybe you could help me to get Leopard installed on my computer.

Fujitsu-Siemens Esprimo mobile v5555 laptop
Dual core T3200 @ 2GHz
2048 MB RAM / shared graphical memory
Sis-Mirage 672 + 968 chipset
SATA 250 GB

Bios version V1.06-37214a-V62 (date 13.03.2008)

On other forums I saw that people adviced users to wait, and the SATA will appear. interestingly, when I open a terminal at the install, and run df -k, I can see part of my hard disk, but when I open up disk manager, I don't.

So I'm not alone...

I am having this very same problem. I have tried just waiting at the Disk Utility as the previous person describes, to no luck.

I have also checked my BIOS. It has SATA controller mode but only give the options of IDE and RAID, and I don't want one of my har drives dissapearing because I accidently turned on RAID...

Using terminal I tried many df commands and I can't see my HD. Would've tried fdisk but am not very experienced with terminal so I couldn't figure out the correct arguments nor the location of the drive.

I have tried 3 different distributions. iDeneb and iPC were the two I used which gave me the listed problem. Kalyway had a kernel panic immediately and forced me to give up on it.

My system configuration:
Biostar P4M900-M4 (latest BIOS settings available)
Pentium 4 @3.4 GHz with HT (Northwood, I believe)
2GB DDR2 RAM
2 Velociraptor 80GB SATA hard drives (First one: 30GB NTFS (Windows XP) + the rest unallocated space, Second One: 80GB NTFS (Where I install all my programs for XP)
ATI Radeon HD 4650 PCI-E x16 Graphics Card (The box says 512MB RAM, XP says 1GB RAM)
1 IDE DVD Drive
1 IDE CD-RW Drive

Details of problem:
No hard drives show up in Disk Utility, only have SATA HDs installed.

I have almost the same problem.
My PC configuration is :
MB: ASUS M2V MX
Chipset : VIA K8M890
Procesor : AMD Athlon DualCore 5000+
HDD: SATA WD 250GB
DVDWR : IDE - ASUS
Video: VIA Chrom9 HC IGP
Audio: realtek HD
Network: realtek RTL 8139

Firts of all, I tried Ideneb 10.5.7 on an IDE HDD but I had problems installing the systems.

During those works, my IDE HDD crahed. Now I have a SATA HDD but I can start the installation Disk Utility dosen't se my HDD.
(I tried all the possible combination - seting the BIOS, but still nothing)
I also tried Kalyway 10.5.2 - still nothing.

Can somebody help me to solve the HDD SATA problem?

I got the same problem with my notebook. its a HP DV6812NR/DV6700

I had the same problem. for some reason it was not seeing the sata. I play with the bios for a while and move here and there some cables. then it work. :confused: Can't really explain why or how but I am not making any changes on the set up. I'll say it's a Bios issue easy to fix.
