Installation Freezeup - Dell m1330

Alright, so the problem I had was that my hard drive was not formatted right for apple software. It's gotta be Fat32, not NTFS. I never came across anything that said I had to do that to make it work. Anyway, I have a new problem now. The Leopard disc loads and begins the installation, but it freezes on this screen where I am left with the following text:

And it just stops there and never advances. An unreliable source told me that my processor isn't strong enough so I can't do it, but I think that's bull crap. I've got a Dell m1330 with a core 2 duo processor that supports SSE3, so I don't know what the problem is. Unfortunately, I can't give the info on what leopard disc I have because I don't know. So if that could be the problem, I would appreciate advice on how to get a working download. Thanks for the help.

I'm in a similar situation with my Toshiba Satellite A215 (AMD processor) and three different distributions of hackintosh including iPC, iDeneb, iAtkos, and Kalyway. it stops at the same place. :mad: Here's a link to my thread I started as well. http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/f185/77815.htm

It makes me feel a *little* bit better that it happens to people trying to install from the original Leopard discs too.

Theres guides for lappy, did you check in the HCL?

i saw this error on my m1330 today but can't remember what the conditions were exactly. in any case, my problem was solved when i typed this into the boot options:

mach_970 -v -x -f

I have the same problem, It freezes at
IOAPIC: Version 0x20 Vectors 0:23

I have tried several versions, leo4all, kalyway, iatkos v5, v7. Nothing, all the same, I have tried the mach_972 as well a several combinations of switches and nada!. I have loaded those same versions in other laptop but in the m1330 no matter what I do I always freeze at IOAPIC: Version 0x20 Vectors 0:23. Any more suggestions?

I apologize for never responding to this thread. I ran out of time to work on this project and only now started looking at it again.

I have iATKOS 7 on a dvd, and when I boot, I get the gray apple screen and the gray spinner that tells me it's doing something. However, after about 30 seconds, the disc stops spinning and my computer just stays on the apple screen without ever progressing, still with the gray spinner. I apparently I got something to work well enough to get me that far, but I'm stuck again. Any clues as to what's going on?
