iATKOS v7 on Shuttle SB65G2 install ok, boot = kernel panic

I've spent many a days trying to get this working without success.
Tried Kalyway 10.5.2, ideneb 10.5.7 and both DVDs never got to the install screens.

Finally tried iATKOS v7 and I can get to the installer and successfully install.
However on first boot, the kernel panics and I'm out of luck. I've tried multiple combinations within iATKOS (ie. kernel version, drivers, etc...) - just can't get it to work.

Now I need some help.
Here are my details...latest try

Shuttle SB65G2

- Intel 865PE/ICH5 chipset
- Pentium 4 2.8 800FSB
- Realtek audio (ALC650
- Realtek ethernet (8100B)
- SATA is Intel ICH5

Using the vanilla kernel with above configuration caused system to reboot after a few moments on cold boot.
