Hey Icchansan, I am trying to see the link to mod the BIOS and I tried clicking on the link in your "Step 2 - Modding the Bios" where it says "here's the info with pics" and the link doesn't work (Just wanted to let you know).
I flashed BIOS you suggested for the Asus IPIBL-LA motherboard and I can't seem to reboot into Windows Vista. It's not that big of a deal but maybe I should have thought it out more... I'm going to start my install in a few hours.
I'm crossing my fingers and I hope that it works. I tried a Kalyway Tiger install that was suggested in the macosx86's forum but it didn't seem to work. I'm going to follow your instructions! Thanks again!
Oh How did you installed kalyway? about vista... you need to fix the bootloader, check any dual boot vista/leopard, we have one in the dual boot section, or google it, is really easy dont need to reinstall vista :P
Tip for our system after MOD, Enable AHCI and XD bit in the BIOS, install without customize, and it should work without problems... that will show you that it work, with the customize you can get better support of course, you can always install the patches after installation, just need to know what to install, post back your results
Well you will need XD bit to run Vanilla Kernel, but I think for others kernel you dont need it, like voodoo.
I have a new BIOS MOD test for v5.32, I will try it tomorrow, maybe you need cuz your processor :P
cool can you let me know how the new BIOS works out?
I would give IPC distro a try. I had the same issues as you with the iatkos.
I have my video working, but I can't change the resolution on my 9500gs. any idea?
EDIT: I used Dray's method of the 9 series nvidia and nvinject 1.2.3 and it worked. I changed my resolution and some how it worked, even though I still had the same issue, upon reboot I was happy to see my new resolution. Also how do I back up my configuration ?
I did EVERYTHING that you suggested in the post! Icchansan, thanks! There doesn't seem to be any initial problems. I'm online, I'm actually typing on it now!
The sound works awesome too. I really didn't understand how to install the Ralink Wireless Utility at first but I installed the files in order... it worked! I know it seems obvious but sometimes you never know right?
Initially, I had no idea how to install the .kext files so I looked it up. I used the Kext Helper b7 application to help me along to install those files.
All of the menus/instructions we're really well thought out and I applaud you for doing so much to help noobs like me!
Quick question, is it possible to update automatically or should I wait for an update to be posted on the forums? I'm afraid that an update would ruin my install. Thanks a bunch!

Everything works except the wireless. I have tried the driver you posted in the tutorial Icchansan and it doesn't work? Any ideas? Thanks bro!
How did you managed to upgrade tp 10.5.6 without issues? I constantly have a "shutdown" problem with my hp :('
Would it really mess up my system if I backed up all the extensions of my 10.5.5 system (which works flawlessly) and copied over all of the same from a 10.5.6 upgrade? If not, maybe this is what might help... Let me know and maybe I'll attempt it... :?
UPDATE: YES! I finally got it working great! My shutdown issue apparently had something to do with the AppleHPET.kext file, which I replaced using from my 10.5.5 extensions (backup) and now shutdown and restart are no longer an issue -- and plus the Firewire is working again, which is the reason I replaced this file in the first place (having it fix my shutdown issue was an added perk!)
Thanks again for everyone's help! Hope this will aid others experiencing the same issue.
