Help wanted for installation on Gateway laptop - thankyou.
Hello, thanks for viewing this thread and hopefully you can help me with the problem I have with installing OSx86 on my Laptop.
I have a Gateway W350a laptop, which has a AMD Turion 64 X2 processor and ATI Radeon graphics card with Realtek wireless, and I am having troubles installing on said device. I have tried 3 different distros of MAC OSX for pc, including iATKOS 5i (which I later realized is for intels. 'doh :P), Kalyway 10.5.1 (which also wasnt compatible, double 'doh), Kalyway 10.5.2 (which said WAS compatible but apparently not) and iDENEB (the latest release, said Intel and AMD so I assumed it would work.)
I have tried booting with every possible combiniation of boot commands it seems (-x, -s, -f, -v, Platform=x86pc, -legacy, Idlehalt=0, cpu=1, etc.) and none have worked for me with each of these. I have a disc copy of each of these so dumping them onto my hardrive using ImgBurn is not a problem if it requires doing so.
Here are my results with each:
Hangs up at Mac Logo (with circle spinning). Although I later figured out that 5i is for intels only, and AMD. Lol, my bad.
Hangs up at Mac Logo as well, except this time with a stop sign above the logo and then it loads no more. Moving the mouse also causes the loader wheel to spin faster, showing that it has hung up?
Kalyway 10.5.1 and Kalyway 10.5.2:
Stops on the 'NTSC Partition v 3.1' Message. IDK what happened but I am confused.
I have read that Lawless PPC Phenom and Zephyroth distros might helps but I cannot try either of these due to either lack of Torrent seeders (2 or 3? 1 kb download speed - yikes!) or lack of rapidshare/megaupload, etc. links (broken).
I know I am a noob at this stuff and I appreciate you reading through all this and perhaps taking the time to respond and help me with my predicament.
