My system is a acer aspire one. I installed with IAtkos 10.5.5 and upgraded to 10.5.6.
ok, for the past week, I have been researching this to death and I can not find out what step I am missing.I am trying to install kext for gma950. Have tried different versions of it which all install fine according to leopard but upon restart make no difference. Specifically, I am stuck at 800x600 resolution and can not run certain applications. I have tried the kext helper (can't remember its name and I think it was version 7) with no success. I have looked at a few guides and done them perfectly with no luck. Everything else works great on my system.
Distro issue possibly
I had iDeneb 10.5.6. I had to disable the GMA950, Apple Framebuffer and GMAx3100 kexts to get 1024x768 resolution to come up. (I have the GMA x3100) I tried several manual approaches. Then I upgraded to iDeneb 10.5.7 via their upgrade kit .dmg - it fixed everything and my DVD too. (NOT Apples upgrade via their site - the iDeneb upgrade kit) I get all the resolutions and kHz settings
