Disk Utility Doesn't See Correct Setup
I've been trying to get os x on my inspiron 1720 for the past 6 or 7 months off and on. It worked for a little bit but I couldnt get sound or my card recognized so i gve up. I must have done something incorrectly when deleting the mac partition because now I can't install it. When I go into disk utility, it sees the old way my hd was set up, with two partitions that split the drive right down the middle. I havent had my drive like that since the summer, it's now setup with one partition of about 280gb and then free space of 20gb which should be used for the mac partition. However, when I go into disk utility, it still sees the old version. If I try to refresh or whatever, it says invalid b-tree node size or something like that. Is there anything I can do to get disk utility to see my current hd setup?
