dcm202 not detected
10.5.7 intel pro/100 ve ethernet card,dcm-202 cable modem isn't detected when plugged into the ethernet port.Works fine in xp (dual boot)
If I use the usb cable,osx86 detects it as a usbmodem5d21 ppp serial dialup modem. Is there any way to tweak a kext so it will detect as an ethernet modem instead?

multiple woes
I am fighting 2 problems at once it seems.
Trying to get my intel 82562et pro/100 ve to work and I am having a clash with the alfa usb wifi device I use to get on the net.
The alfa shows up as a hardwired ethernet(en2) and so does my intel pro/100 at the same time.Is there any way to get rid of all those services and start from scratch?
There is a choice to make inactive, but I want to start fresh.
I edited various kext files to get the intel working,no go.
1064:8086 is the pid/vid

pet of the month
Get rid of the applehpet.kext for one thing.
The AppleIntel8255x.kext doesn't have to be in the IOnetworkingfamily.kext/contents/plugins folder,if you have one there waste it.The various kext helpers only put the edited
kext files in the s/l/e/ folder,so the two versions would clash.
Edit the AppleIntel8255x.kext with your info;in my case it was 0x10648086
I used efistudio v1.1-select ethernet add device, then hit the write to com.apple.boot.plist
without doing any editing.Reboot and network interface was detected in network settings.
