ATI Radeon HD 4650 not working
Hello. I know my first post, I hate to be asking for help but I really need it. I've successfully installed Leo4Allv2 onto a Dell Dimension E521 desktop. However, I have a Radeon HD 4650 video card I bought separately. I normally wouldn't care that it doesn't work with mac but I believe it is preventing me from being able to install Final Cut Pro. I've searched extensively and haven't found any help on the matter, can anyone find drivers for this graphics card? the driver I picked on startup was for the Radeon 3850. Obviously the drivers I picked aren't working, also I need to be able to get sound through this card, as it supports that as well, any help would be vastly appreciated. Thank You.
ati radeon 4650 solution for me.
I have ATI HD 4650 and have the max resolution in my Vaio. READ ALL THE POST BEFORE DOING ANYTHING.
Have your DVD in your tray, boot it, select only ATI HD from drivers section, do not select Base System if you already have an OS.
I can set the max resolution by:
sudo nano /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist
write this under Timout section. key, string pairs are the format of this file. It's an XML file all in all.
of course, write the resolution and depth you want between string tags.
but before this have the backup of com.apple.Boot.plist somewhere in your disk.
sudo cp /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist /somewhere
This file is very fragile, if you ruin it, everything may be ruined and you may not boot your OS. If it is failed, open your machine, have Darwin bootloader and type: -F mach_kernel -v.
If it passes directly to another OS, or gives boot error, reboot the machine press F8 and catch the screen and open it by typing: -f -x
