Default Is it possible to install Snow Leopard on an Acer

    Hello all,

I am all new to this.. And I have 1 question to get things straight.. Is it possible to install Snow Leopard on an Acer Aspire M5630. Here are the specs of the acer:

    http://support.acer.com/acerpanam/de...M5630sp2.shtml

    I have the:

    - Intel Q6600 Quad Core Processor
    - 2GB DDR2 Memory
    - 500GB SATA Hard drive
    - ATI Radeon HD2400Pro graphics
    - Windows XP Pro

Is it possible to get Snow Leopard on here, and if not what could be my changes? Thanks so much for all your help.. Fairly new to the Hackint0sh thing.

    Thanks in advance..

The HCL for Snow Leopard is very inconclusive. While you may be able to, there are no promises as of yet. Try a different version of Mac OS X (10.5.6 or similar) and see if that works fine. Then try a leopard upgrade.

Hey thanks for the reply.. But do the specs look good enough to install Mac OS X (10.5.6)? Basically is my computer ready to have Mac OS to be installed? No things needed to be changed? Thanks again!

Anyone with an answer? The specs look fine or there needs to be some changes?

    Hey there...

Just wanted to let you know that it IS possible to run OSX (I have 10.5.6 dual booted with Windows 7 RC on my Acer M5630). Obviously, it takes some tweaking to accomplish but isn't that big of a deal. The hardest thing to get to work would be the ATI Radeon 2400 PRO. But I did get it to work with full resolution and QE/CI. The only thing that I could not personally get to work is OS X to see more than one core. I haven't personally tried very hard to fix it either so I am not saying it is not possible. Anyways...it has been since 09-04-09 since you posted your question and you may have succesfully installed it already so I won't go into further detail unless you reply back here and need further help or pm me.

I don't know about installing Snow Leopard yet but there are people working around the clock on it and it will most likely just take some time.
