    I believe in this:

Northbridge : SiS 648 = Only run using USB DVD and HDD. SATA and IDE think not work and not have sollution for this.

    Intel P35/G33/G31 : I don't know...doesn't have this chip to test.

Trick : Try in both cases use a USB DVD Drive to install.

You can try search for this chipsets models over here (forum). Maybe has some topic to help you.

    Goodluck,

Your SATA drives are the problem ! Try to set in BIOS SATA_MODe to IDE or hookup an IDE drive for installation...

    Default 10.5.4 failed on P4 1.9Ghz with i850(ICH2)

Hi! Newbie here. My OS X installer is Leopard 10.5.4 iAtkos 4i & I would like to install it to my old P4 1.9Ghz Socket 423 on Abit Motherboard with Intel 850 chipset, 400Mhz FSB, RD Ram 768MB. The said PC have 2 40GB harddisk drive, i'm planning to install 1 OS only, the loepard. I partitioned both harddisk using Windows XP CD installer into 1 whole partition each drive, but didn't format the drives.

I boot the Leopard cd, after pressing enter on the choice of darwin... the computer freezed on this apple logo

when i choose the -v command,

    installer freeze on this:

any suggestion will be highly appreciated.

    thanks in advance.

Try replace DVD type (if you has a IDE, try use a SATA device) and vice-versa.

If not work all...need other mainboard with a different chipset.
