    Hi there,
I hope that you have not format your hard drive yet. Here is the link to dual booting. You can read through the guide and find applicable information for your need.

The patched disc you used just over wrote some of the code Windows uses to boot. If you still haven't fixed it see here link. Half way through my post I explain how to fix it. Hope this helps

    Hi,
Thanks Dj Osiris for the info. So the windows disc will need to be loaded twice, once for terminal work and once for windows repair. I need this to prepare my laptop for dual booting. My desktop use multiple disc scheme so it is a bit different.
    Thanks again for your information.
    Regards,

    Hi,
@Dj Osiris, I got a quick question and hope that you don't mind clarify it for me.
The situation that Yask got into now is because Win7 took 3 partition so the 4th one that was created for OSX, using windows, is of logical partition, Chameleon can not boot to a logical one, and since it took over the MBR the bootstrap got nowhere to go.
If third party partitioning software was used to create a primary partition for OSX then Chameleon should be able to not only boot OSX but also Win7 when point to that "system reserve" EFI thing. Do I get it correct?
    Thank you for answering this.
    Best Regards,

Yea ratvn that's correct. Creating a dual boot is pretty simple. I wouldn't recommend using Easy BCD though. Use the best boot loader @present Chameleon . Can't get much better than a boot loader that supports graphics as well as many more goodies . What OS's will you be booting?

Yes, I agree. I had some trouble with easy BCD and had to reload OS's, lucky that I used an extra disc to perform the test first before the real ones though.
It will be win7 and OSX mostly, used to run linux when I am on internet due to too much virus hanging around. But now I can use OSX so it much better.
My desktop got Win7, Winxp, Unbutu x64, Mandriva x32 linux, Ideneb 1.6 and 2 more partition reserve for retail Leopard and Snow leopard that I will be installing them in shortly. I agree, Chameleon is such a good boot loader, graphical interface and doesn't have problem booting any of those.
The funny thing is Unbutu and Mandriva fighting for the MBR and would not boot each other. I need to fix that at some point.
Thank you for you information, Dj Osiris.
    Best Regards,

    Best Regards,
Sorta. MBR is limited to 4 primarys. OSX was probably his fifth because Win7's system reserve is of course hidden. When he installed OSX it wouldn't boot into OSX due to the limits of MBR and couldn't boot into Windows because the older versions of Chameleon break Window's MBR (this has been corrected but not officially released yet). About EFI it is only created when installing OSX Retail on a GUID. Hope this helps

    Thanks, Dj Osiris.
The new Chameleon will only use MBR sector to 440 bytes and leave the rest for Win7, right? Just like EFI on OSX will leave out first sector of 512 bytes in case other OS need it.
    Thanks.

Well I'm not sure what version of OSX you were planning to put on but if you need any help just let me know . Also a word of advice create a partition for Windows 7 first before you go to install it. This way it only creates one partition and doesn't add the system reserved partition. It is only needed if you plan on using Bitlocker but it's not the best for encryption .
