Hi All,

Very new to this. I want to evaluate leopard on my PC before I go out and buy a MAC Book Pro.

My Current PC setup is:

MB: ASUS Maximus Formula
CPU: Quad Core 6600
Video: HIS Radeon 3870 HD
Sound: X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty

What distro of OSX86 would be best to try? I also use two monitors.

I believe everything will work, but your sound card is unsupported, but lots of creative are, check the HCL

I will follow your guide and see how it goes. Hopefully I can use on-board sound on the MB.

Well be careful with that guide, cuz its for HP Pavilion Elite,

But this basically that you have to do...

Download a distro for leopard like, iatkos v5 or ideneb

- Boot into the DVD and the installer should load now.
- Select your Language
- Use Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. In Disk Utility, Select your Partition, and format you should choose Mac OS Extended (Journaled). After partitioning, quit Disk Utility to return to the Leopard Installer. Important: Partitioning the disk erases the entire disk, so make sure you back up your important files first.
- You can customize your installation if you know your hardware and thats it ;D
- If something is wrong can be installed post installation without any problem ;>

Thanks for advice. Im still downloading ideneb distro; 50% complete now. If I cant get sound to work, is there a very cheap card you would recommend?

The deal breaker for me actually buying a mac is making sure WOW works ok on it

Its only game I play so if WOW works it would be good to try a new OS

Check that list that i give you in the post #2 of this thread, you can buy one of those on ebay
