Hi, Im completely new to all this, installed leo4all v3 2 days ago and works perfectly but I need to update and decided to try what you suggest. I downloaded the combo update, backed up the extensions folder and did everything as instructed. The first time I tried to manually remove the Intel kext but the screen froze before I managed. The next time I used terminal, but had the exact same effect. The screen froze when the install process was at about 10% and terminal said access was denied. My account has admin privileges so I cant understand why it was denied. Also, does the freezing have to do with the file not being deleted in time, or is it something else?

When I finished installing the update, I tried to went in the InstallAtStartup folder, but I can't go in it because I don't have access privilege. Im the admin. Any idea?

    Default Please Help

I installed Kalyway 10.5.1 a while ago. When I tried to update to 10.5.2 it didn't work and I couldn't boot anymore. So I installed a new 10.5.1 on my second partition (Data) and moved all my programs and files there. I was able to boot by pressing a key and selecting the Data volume. Now I wanted to update again (stupid me). I formatted the original partition (Leopard) and not surprisingly I couldn't choose (Data) as a boot volume any more. The only option I have is the Kalyway DVD. I tried to install a new Kalyway on the Leopard partition but it keeps crashing at the end. Please help me! Is there somehow a way to boot from my working volume (Data)?

    Default Help Update

I was finally able to install Kalyway 10.5.1 on the original volume. When I go into startup disk option, I don't see my (Data) disk as an option. I tried hitting the option key during booting but it always boots immediately in the latest installation. Any suggestions?

    Default I did it!

I got it to work! I edited the com.apple.Boot.plist file in the latest installation and added <key>Timout</key><string>9</string> which game me enough time to press F8 and voila my Data volume was in the options for a booting! Now my plan was to upgrade the new empty installation and if that works upgrade my Data volume.

    Default 10.5.5 Update -.-

Hey... Maybe this just sin't meant to be but i need help yet again... I've managed to install kalyway 10.5.2 and update to .3... Now I'm having troubles... I'm following this http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/show...t=41912&page=8

When the kext appears which you have to delete i right clicked it to delete and it crashed... I couldn't do anythign.... I rebooted and it goes to the grey apple screen, a load of text goes on the screen... It dims and tell me to power off. I carry on doing this and its jsut repeating... Can anyone help me pelase? I can't access my drive anymore from windows because i get errored. Is there anyway to get my kalyway back without reinstalling -.- its happened twice now... also on that guide it says:

    Code:
You can use this little script for it, run as root, before starting upgrade:

    Code:

while sleep 1 ; do rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext ; done
    How do i do that?

You have to open terminal and type:
    sudo -s
    (type your password)
while sleep 1; do rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext; done
    Then run the update
