    Angry No Harddisk recognized - Help needed pls

    Hello folks!
    I couldn’t find some answer to my problem on the forum, so I am trying this way.
    I tried with more different installations disks (leo4all, iatkos...) and most of them do work but when I go to disk utilities and will erase the partition on my disk there is no disk recognized. I have formatted the partition to NTFS, FAT32 and FAT16 but it is not there like it doesn’t exist. I tested to run different OS on my machine like winXP, windows vista, windows 7 and Linux ubuntu without any problems.
    this is my machine:
    Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Mobile TK55 1.8 GHz
    Mothercard: Quanta (System-ID: 30CF Version: 85.26)
    Grafik: Nvidia MCP67M
    BIOS: Hewlet-Packard Version: F.30 Datum: 2008-04-24
    HD: WDC 500 GB

    Please help i tried to solve this in about a year!

    Is there an option in your BIOS for SATA to AHCI? Any other SATA option?
    And your hdd is SATA type? On an laptop?
    What version/release have you tried?

    I had same problem. It only recognised the drive after i run a partion (1) on it which formatted to the default settings.
    In disk utility is recogised the other formats but for some reason when selecting a drive to install on it didn't see them.

    Hope that helps.

    Hi
    Thanks for trying but there is no such option sata to ahci. No other either. I saw also another thread there you are thinking that iatkos s3 maybe helps so I will tri this one because I realize that I tried iatkos couple of months ago and it was probably old version.
    Thanks one more time and I let you know if it works!

    IAtkos S3 does have driver for MCP67, but the southbridge controller is very picky, and sometimes not working correctly.
    Try it to see if it could get further.

    problem again but this time it is kernel for amd, i think at least. i downloaded legacy_kernel-10.3.0.pkg which is for amd as long as i understand and i shall put this line

    arch=i386 legacy_kernel

    into file named com.apple.Boot.plist. there is no such file on dvd and what to do with this pkg file!
    by the way could it be wrong jumper set up on HD. i think it was set up on auto and it is only one hd in my laptop.

    Let's back trace a bit. It's hard to follow what you're gone through without being there.
    1. You are using iAtkos S3 v2?
    2. Have you finished the installation successfully and at first reboot? This is very important step as it can prove the OSX installer having your chipsets controller/hdd kexts.

    3. For AMD kernel, S3 does has Qoopz/Annapvirth 10.6.3. That is the Legacy kernel as they just use different name for it (Unless they modified it differently for Intel). So there should be no need for downloading and installing the extra kernel.
    4.Laptop HDD is usually not hardware configurable, and can only be changed through BIOS settings.
    5. As boot options, the syntax is correct, but as an entry in Boot.plist it is different.
    AMD with that kernel would run best in x86/32 bit mode. So at Chameleon boot screen, you just need to enter those options to specify running mode and kernel choice.

    As for booting your installer and system, use this

    -x -v

    and/or cpus=1 busratio=20 if needed.

    And then for x86 mode, add in

    arch=i386

    You can also call out your kernel, if different than the default.
