Question [Netbook Install] Anyone tried Acer Aspire one...?

I have seen people install OS X on Atom based EeePC and Dell mini 9.

Has anyone tried it with Acer aspire one....? I just purchased one and would like to know if it works...

I have an aspire one too. There are guides all over the internet. I found a really good one, but I unfortunately don't have the link on me at the moment. Just google "aspire one leopard", it'll be there somewhere.

Everything works but the wifi, card readers, and sleep. The wifi card can be swapped out on the cheap though, so that's not much of a problem.

    Thanks for the reply.

Firstly, I have the Aspire One (A150) with Windows XP. Now, if I install Leopard, the eRecovery application will be erased, so how do I burn it on a disk, so that I can restore it later if needed.

Secondly, I have a few questions:
    1. Which distro did you use?
    2. How much RAM do you have?
    3. Any patch/kext used after install?

And also let me know if the camera works.

That would be good enough for me to get started. Thanks for your help.

Here is an awesome compatibility chart:

If you haven't bought one yet but you're planning to, go for the MSI wind.

For the Aspire one, here is a great guide.

Just ignore all the stuff about ubuntu if you don't want to triple boot.

It's funny that you mention the camera, because that is the one component that completely works out of the box on the Aspire One, oddly.

    Thanks for that.

I would have got the Wind if I would have read this a week ago...

Anyways, I'll checkout the guide on Venera7. Thanks.

    Default ApsireOne AOA-150 OS X10.5.4

Hello I have the ApsireOne AOA-150 running XP and MSIWindosx86 10.5.4. I changed out the wi-fi card to dell 1490 works great. Not sure if sleep works on computer but the display will sleep. See the SC card slot but can't write to it. I am going to try to upgrade it to iPC 10.5.6 OSx86finial release, almost have it downloaded. here a link you can check out Acer Aspire One User Forum • Index page

    bestman50

I used EASEUS Partition Manager(free version) to partition my 120Gb hard drive before installing OS X 10.5.4. it can resize the hard drive with out losing your XP system, still have the recovery partition there is a torrent out the with the recovery ISO. I think I got the info in the above link.
www.partition-tool.com or google it. great software used it on several hard drives
