Default Need help installing iATKOS v7- It won't even start installing

I burned the iso to a dvd and it's bootable but I have a problem(probably more than one). When I boot to the dvd it goes to the normal install screen if I just click enter to start the install it goes to this screen:

I realize it's probably hard to read. It's basically saying it has a panic error.

If I click f8 at the boot screen and type -s it shows this: "system config file '/com.apple.boot.slist' not found". It blinks repeatedly and doesn't stop. The same thing happens if I type -v.

Does anyone know what might be causing this?

    Here are my computer specs:
Intel core pentium D processor 2.60 ghz
    80 bg hard drive
1 or 2gb of RAM I'm pretty sure it's 1gb but not completely
Running ubuntu I don't have windows on my desktop
    Dell Dimension E510 desktop

Is there something I should have installed on my hard drive before trying this or is it some other problem? I'm just putting the disk in and booting from it. I didn't install any other programs before I tried it(only the things to burn the iso to the dvd).

I hope that's enough info to give you some idea of the problem. If it's not just tell me what you need to know.

    Any help is appreciated.

I finally thought to myself it might just be the fact that my dvd drive might suck at burning disks(it's almost 5 years old) so I decided to burn it again. Turns out I was right and now the second disk works.

Ok new problem... When I click boot it just goes to a gray apple screen with the loading circle forever. Well for at least 30 minutes(I just stopped it after 30 minutes).

Post your error message so people can help.
The apple screen......forever just means it doesn't work, if that is anything to you.

I don't get an error screen just the apple loading forever screen. I guess I'll try reinstalling it. When I install it which bootloader should I click? There's chameleon v1, chameleon v2 and xiezhy booter when I click customize before installing it.

Check your custom selections. Boot with option -x -v for verbose.
V2 is fine, RC4 is even better.

I've tried reinstalling it with each bootloader and all end up with the apple screen.
I just booted in verbose here's the picture(I wasn't sure what was important so I just took a close up of the yellow words.)

Not the best picture but it's readable. Also at the bottom it says "still waiting for root device"

I just tried reinstalling it several times with different things and it always seems to end up waiting for the root device. I'm not sure how I would fix that.

So finally you have an error message to resolve?
What is your chipsets? HDD type?

I honestly have no clue. I know how to check it in windows but I got rid of that on my desktop so how would I check it in ubuntu? If you know.
