Mystery Of The Universe...
It'll be great if someone here could explain me this:
For years I've been hearing Mac users about the power of Mac. I've always been a PC guy.
This is the test I did:
I installed kalyway 10.5.2 in the following machine:
Intel Core 2.4GHz
4GB RAM
Nvidia 9600GSO 768 MB
3 hard drives - 1200GB in total
I have Vista Ultimate installed.
I open Premiere pro with an HD project which plays great on Vista.
I open the same project in Mac with the same version of Premiere and the playback sucks.
Did I do something wrong? Do I need to configurate something with the video card to play video smoothly?
By the way I have to monitors working OK at 1680x1050.
Does anybody here play HD videos smoothly on Mac?
This is my video status:
Graphics by NVIDIA:
Chipset Model: Graphics by NVIDIA
Type: Display
Bus: PCIe
PCIe Lane Width: x4
VRAM (Total): 768 MB
Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de)
Device ID: 0x0610
Revision ID: 0x00a2
ROM Revision: NVinject 0.2.0
Displays:
DELL 2007WFP:
Resolution: 1680 x 1050 @ 60 Hz
Depth: 32-bit Color
Core Image: Software
Main Display: Yes
Mirror: Off
Online: Yes
Quartz Extreme: Not Supported
DELL 2007WFP:
Resolution: 1680 x 1050 @ 60 Hz
Depth: 32-bit Color
Core Image: Software
Mirror: Off
Online: Yes
Quartz Extreme: Not Supported
I've heard that enabling Quartz Extreme would accelerate video, but as you can see it says "Not supported"
Is there a way to solve this?
Another thing is that I have to log on with "-x" if not when I click on the menu is blank as the right click also shows a blank square with no menu at all.
If there's an solution I would appreciate your posting. I want to believe that I'm wrong about the power of Mac.
Thanks
