Here what distro they used and what to select
I did check the HCL, and that's why I'm confused why it's not working, I'm not even getting to the install process. It fails before I even get there.

Problem solved, chose to re-burn the dvd since my problems didn't make any sense, it boots and gets to install screen now.

    Thanks everyone who tried.

I'm having the same problem on my Dell PC, but reburning the DVD doesn't help. The DVD almost boots, I can even see the mouse appear on the screen and move it, then it goes back to the black terminal screen pumping the same message without end:

mkdir() failed to create /Library/Logs with error: Read-only file system
mkdir() failed to create /Library/Logs with error: Read-only file system
mkdir() failed to create /Library/Logs with error: Read-only file system
mkdir() failed to create /Library/Logs with error: Read-only file system

Of course it's readonly, it's a freaking DVD!

I'm using the SL 10.6.2 Client+Server compilation by Hazard.
