    Default Cool !

Finally as you snoops I get all working on 10.5.7 also QE (definitly works well with Voodookernel and NVDarwin) but I still didn't check for the ethernet card.

Snoops which Ethernet card have you and which kext did you install (have you any link about this ?). I have the same ethernet card of Grishman : Marvell Yukon 88E8040 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller.

Concerning the reboot/shutdown hang black screen, I have the same problem and the iPC fix doesn't fix it. I read something about a video card driver issue but I didn't find yet a solution for this...

    Thanks !!

    Well,

Regarding the Quartz Extreme, haven't really dealved into this issue, when I go into the system info it tells me that my card is the right one and the memory is 256mb, besides that, I have been hesitant to run any graphics heavy applications such as games, dont really have problems running hd movies on it. I have noticed that the computer generates a lot more heat, and the battery is sucked dry in 1/4 the time. Regarding the black screen boot, I have looked into his issue in multiple forums and it looks like the shutdown/restart is a work in progress, the only thing to do at this time I guess is to hold the button after the screen is black.

    Thanks,

    Grishman,

I guess I have not written anything usefull in this post, I am on vacation and have not used the MacOs in a week, will get back with usefull information after I come back.

    Hi there,

Ethernet started working on its own after upgrading to 10.5.7. I have full hibernate/deep sleep function although it goes away when I upgrade from Chameleon/PCEFI v.9 to Chameleon 2 alone or Chameleon/PCEFI v10 or v10.1. I also have Full QE QGL via Netkas efi inject.

    Default audio problems

    hey guys,
i installed iPC 10.5.6 Final on my m1530 with no problems. The only thing not working is the sound. I use the sigmatel 9228 driver.
I feel like ive tried everything to fix it-
-AppleHDA Patcher 1.16/1.20 with various dumps- nothing ever patched
    -Patched AppleHDA.kext
    -VoodooHDA.kext

    None of these have worked...HELP!!?

I'm going to try to install OSX on my M1530, as well. Same config as you guys.

    However, from the thread here:

    http://www.hackint0sh.org/f181/77503.htm

It appears that some people have used iAtkos v7 to get a working OS. Do you guys have any input on using iAtkos vs iPC?

    Thanks in advance

    Default iAtkos Vs iPc

    Hi,

Is it possible to send a detail listing of all the option selected during the installation of iPC, like I did for the iAtkos v7 here

I would like to try iPC since the internal wireless seems to work.

Here are the list of all option for iPC
    http://www.ihackintosh.com/2009/02/i...e-driver-list/

I should mention that the iAtkos v7 works in dual boot (WindowsXP) without problem like I have heard with iPC.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

I have a similar M1530 setup to the OP, and using iPC 10.5.6, using the following configs I got it *almost* working...

    9.5.0 Voodoo Kernel
    NVInject 0.2.1 256MB VRAM
    LegacyAppleIntelPIIXATA
    Sigmatel9228
    AppleBCM440XEthernet
    Intel ProSet/Wireless 2100
    Patched USB Drivers
    ps2 keyboard fix

I followed this thread to get Ethernet working:
WORKING Solution for Marvell Yukon 2 88E8040 Fast Ethernet! - InsanelyMac Forum

I have an Intel wireless card - it seems it's a no-go so I'll stick with Ethernet for now.

Not working yet: sound and restart/shutdown, advice welcome

Thanks OP for the clear post

    @chillinuts thanks for sharing
@martbob were you able to get the iPC working completely?

Also, has anyone tried the lifehacker's guide on installing snow leapord on the M1530?

Sorry I had no time to try it and my iAtkos v7 setup work quite well for now.

I'll probably wait for the next big upgrade maybe SnowLeopard before I replace the current install.

Keep us inform about the developpement of new drivers made for MacOsX for the M1530

BTW is it possible to make new drivers to support new hardware ?

I would hold up on the Snow Leopard until there is an official update by Apple fixing key issues. My friend installed it on his Macbook Pro and there was a fine vertical line running from the top of the screen to the bottom, which looked like dead pixels, plus additional minor problems.
