This is probably my 5th time posting on a forum about my problem. I've seen other people with this problem as well, however, nobody has come up with a solution.

I've tried every distro I can think of, and in not one of them can i get past this dreaded kernel panic. I've booted with all flags (-x, -f, cpus=1) and everything. I've searched everywhere, googled many times, and still have no information.

Just someone please let me know why i'm getting this error, and what i can do to get past it, and install OSX.

The issue is also present in Linux. There is a fix for linux but it requires you to patch up the kernel and recompile it. I don't know anything about OSX, but can you guys compile your own kernels?

It instructs the kernel to copy the dsdt table at the beginning of the boot process before the bios has had a chance to re-write it.

Did anything ever become of this? I wouldn't mind trying out OSX for once.
Can the OSX kernel be compiled from scratch? If so, can anyone help me port the patch over?

Nothing has become of this, i wish someone would actually help though. I've tried searching everywhere, can't find a thing. And making a custom hackintosh version is definitely not my cup of tea.

It's the DSDT table. It gets swapped out from a barely working one to a completely broken one, sometime during boot. We just need a fixed DSDT. If I post the current DSDT table from linux (the barely working one, that the patch obtains), can anyone help me fix it? Would it be compatible with both linux and osx? Right now, I can decompile it but I run into 4 errors and several warnings while recompiling.

I'm having this same problem. Anyone found a fix yet?

This problem is a very serious one you see. It has to do with the way the kernel handles APIC,its a problem with the source.

This basically makes retail install difficult/impossible.

Unless someone comes up with some other solution.
