Default Kernel panic or something else?

    First the hardware:
    Gigabyte P965-S3
    E4300 processor

Alright, so I have grubs-dfe, the generic.iso, Sabr's P965-DS3 .iso, and Hagars (very sweet) image.

Booting any of those, after I get my 10.5.2 disc in, I get to the Apple load screen and then a circle with a line through it appears (remember the Ghostbusters symbol, the red "o" with the line through it and the ghost behind it? its like that, minus the ghost and its white instead of red)

Is that what some have called a "kernel panic?" Or something else?

If its a kernel panic, that means I need to insert some kexts right?
