Kalyway Boot Issue/ 1557
Hi,
I have a Dell Studio 1557, 6GB DDR3 RAM, Intel Core i7 720QM processor. I believe the chipset is PM55. Ok, so all distros were not even booting into the installers and rebooting as soon as i pressed enter on the Darwin screen. In another 5 post thread, someone said they got Kalyway working. I boot into the disk, it works!
Here's the problem: I only have 1 HDD and I don't want to format the entire drive (don't want to remove my windows 7). What I do is i format the Mac partition I created, install. No problems yet. After install at the "Install Complete Reboot now" screen, after reboot, I go right back into Win7. When I get into Win7 and run EasyBCD and add OSX, that only selects the C drive, and there is no other drive except my recovery partition. I tried to make the partition name only one word, and that didn't help. Putting in the disk and booting only boots up the install, not the installed os. I am not that good at partitioning and osx (while I did do it issue free on an old HP Pavillion). Is this some primary/logical partition issue or what. In Disk Managment in Windows, it just says "Healthy, Primary Partition" in the Mac partition. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I really am willing to try all the flags you guys want me to, if you can solve the problem. Thanks again!

Someone before said to try to turn off speedstep in BIOS, but that had no effect. I don't even know where the post went... anyway, if someone could help. I really am open to trying anything...

Why the heck are you trying with kalyway? Try with the latest distro out there, maybe iAtkos or iPC, maybe you will need cpus=1 -v -f to boot, report back if you have any progress. Btw can you post your full specs? no links

To load those distro releases, you don't need any boot CD, and it would be worse to have the bootCD in place due to different preboot image/files.

Yeah, I know that, but when I try to boot from iAtkos or Hazard DVD on my Studio 1557 just restart itself before leopard install begins. How can I install any of those distros on my laptop?
