Default Kalyway 10.5.2 wont get past -v just hangs

    Hi

Trying to install the above as a dual boot with Vista but installation hangs after the -v switch.

    I have also tried -x -s -f cpuis=1 & cpuis=2 but the machine always hangs here:

    My spec:

    Motherboard: MSI P35 Neo2
    System BIOS: AMI, Date 21/06/07
    Chipset: Intel P35
    CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz
    2Gb RAM
    Graphics Card: NVIDIA Geforce 8800GTS
Sound: Onboard Realtek High Definition Audio
    HDD 1: Samsung HD501LJ SATA
    HDD 2: Samsung SP2504C SATA
IEE 1394 Bus Host Controller: VIA OHCI Compliant IEE 1394 Host Controller
Network Adaptor: Onboard RTL8168/8111 Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.0)
Wireless Network Adaptor: Netgear WPN311 Rangemax Wireless PCI Adaptor

This problem also occurs when trying to install iATKOS. I have searched many forums but I cant find a solution to this install problem.

Any help getting past this point would be appreciated.

I have the same problem, the screen isn't the same but quite similar and the Insanely Mac link didnt help much as those steps are necessary to do in preparation for installing Mac OSX
Any help would be appreciated, currently Im trying to use Kalyway 10.5.2 to install onto my computer.

Not yet (another distro) I have a pretty slow internet connection. How would I go about installing another kernel or using another kernel for the install?

    Kalyway 10.5.2 Kernels

    kernel_9.2_sleep (intel/amd/sse2/sse3)
    kernel_9.2_speedstep (intel/amd/sse2/sse3)
    kernel_9.2.2_kabyl (intel/sse3)
    kernel_922_modbin (intel/amd/sse3)
    kernel_92_nforce (intel/sse3)
    kernel_vanilla_922 (intel/sse3) with sleep support

Maybe you dont support vanilla kernel, try another one like speedstep or modbin, or nforce if your motherboard have nforce chipset, you have to try.

to choose your kernel, click on customize button, It will appear in the left corner before install.

    Check this pic

    Good Luck

I believe you guys have to MOD the BIOS, theres a version on Kabyl Web Page, macnut can help you too.

dude120, try with cpus=1 -v, and you can always disable in the BIOS onboard stuff like network adapters, audio and install them later.

To get all cores working need the BIOS MOD, Good luck
