Hi. I'm currentlly using an HP laptop with 4gb ram and an AMD Dual core processor. I downloaded the patched ISO, kalyway 10.5.2 AMD/Intel. I am following a guide, but cannot even get to the darwin loader.

The little spinny white lines happen, then about 10 lines in it gets stuck at "Using ACPI RSDP revision 2 found at 0x000fe020", with a blinking _ underneath. I've repeated this process twice with no luck. Ideas or help please? I'm running Windows 7, and am trying to dual boot.

I'd say to do some more reading. My experience is with Intel powered laptops and not AMD. I too have an HP laptop with the AMD processor that I've been wanting to install OSX on as well but haven't cause of your same issue. I know it can be done but it's tricky from what I've been able to gather.

It is probably due to you not picking the right kext & fixes when you installed it. I'd say maybe go back and reinstall it. You could probably go into some type of command line thing and enter kext or copy files or whatever that way but I have no idea how to do it. I'd say first you should try to find someone else whose got a laptop like yours and who has done this. Copy their kext selections and see if that works for you. If not or you can't find that information, then you are gonna have to research your laptop's hardware and then start experimenting with kext & fixes until you've got it working and booting.

Thanks for the help mate but i think you misunderstood me, I havent even got into the installation of osx86 yet! I havent't even been given the option to select kexts :L

EDIT: Works now, tried different distribution (iPC)

i have the same issu.it doesnt get in to installation.it stops at "usin ACPI RAID.............."what is the problem..please help me???
