I've done some hunting around for a solution to these kernel panics, and I think I can safely narrow it down to IOATAFamily, but I've not really been able to figure out how to fix this.
They seem to happen randomly, but most often when I am downloading anything, be it torrent, update, or direct from a website. Everything seems to function exactly as it should until the error pops up.
If it helps my specs are:
Asus A8N-SLI Premium Nforce 4
AMD X2 4200
Geforce 7800 GTX
Drive containing OSX86 is IDE as Primary Master
Also have 1 SATA Drive with Vista and 2 SATA drives setup in Raid 1 (vista detected/ raid not detected by OSX)
I used iDeneb 1.4 OSX 10.5.6 with Voodoo Kernel 9.5
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
you may get helped from installing Seatbelt.kext (if you are using Voodoo 9.5 kernel on a AMD machine).
I have installed the seatbelt.kext and it did fix an issue I was having to begin with, but has not solved the above kernel panic.
Update: I set a bootflag of maxmem=2048 in the com.apple.Boot.plist and have been running much longer doing just as much within the OS. I am not calling this fixed completely but so far so good. I've read amongst the forum that OSX86 has some issues with 4GB of ram.
