intel 950 GMS + sigmatel 9200 + broadcom57xxx + great boot problem, on latitude d430
i have a ulv core 2 duo, with 2 cores in kaly 10.5.1
but:
sound > sigmatel 9200 isnt working
lan > broadcom 57 gigabit isnt working
graphic > artefacts (when its booted...)
but the biggest problem is, that often i need up to 15 times in darwin to load mac os x gui
- before it reboots after the grey applo logo loading screen
i tried -v -s -f .. sometimes it boots (sometimes / often not)
today... i tried up to 30 minutes to get the gui - what can i do?
is that a problem only for me?
thank you!

Try to disable one core either cpus=1 or in the bios. I had a d420 that would not work with both cores enabled. I belive it is how the dell bios is that does not allow both cores to work right.

Yes, set your cpu=1 in your bios or your com.apple.boot.plist.
probably best if you did it in yoru bios first to get everything up and running. also, there are hacks you can get working that will allow you to use both cores. head over to insanelymac and check out their forums. the easiest one is to get sleep working on your laptop and then when it wakes up, it reinitializes both cores. (if you don't have cpu=1 in yoru bios and boot.plist)
while($row = mysql_fetch_array($result))

I have my D430 running iATKOS v5 10.5.5
Here are the specs:
ULV intel u7600 core 2 duo
1GB DDR2
32GB SSD
Intel 945GMS / 950 GMA
1280x800 12.1
Dell ABGN wifi
The LCD doesn't work unless you either plug an extra monitor in externally, or you set sleep mode on one of the hot corners and hit it with your mouse on boot. Dual cores works fantastic along with wifi. QE/QI work
NIC doesn't work. The settings i used in iATKOS:
EFI V9
EFI kexts for intel video
X86 ACPI
laptop addons
UPDATE got the sound working by using the appleHDA patcher 1.2 and a Sigmatel 9200 kext automatically. Grab the text file here
http://psykopat.free.fr/apple/AppleH...gmatel9200.txt
Then drag and drop to the appleHDA patcher.
What works:
Speedstep
Dual Core!
Wifi
Bluetooth
Sound (including headphone jack, but does not mute the little speaker when headphones are plugged in)
USB Mice and devices
Display at native resolution with some caveats
Battery and info
What doesn't work yet:
NIC
SD Card reader
Fingerprint reader
Possibly the fan (Stays on 100%)
Sleep
Lid close to sleep or turn off LCD

Search over the forum/Google for patches. For Video look for "Natit for GMA". Work without problems.

great news,
