Default Instasllin iDeneb 1.4 OSx86 on AMD machine

Hi guys, I am have trouble installing iDeneb v1.4 on my PC.

I have been reading alot of threads and different websites stating that if you using an AMD based machine, the the latest version of iDeneb is the one to use. I even checked out the iDeneb website to make sure.

I downloaded the file, and burnt to disc. Rebooted my machine and it gets to the apple logo boot screen, but then just hangs there, and doesn't do anything else.

Where the apple timer thingy is going round on the screen, after about 2-3 mins a circle with a line through it appears.

Does anybody have any ideas how I can get this working on my rig?

    SETUP
    =======

    AMD64 X2 5800+
    4GB DDR2
    MSI M/B
    MSI 256GDDR
1 x TB HD with XP Pro
1 x 750MB HD with Vista Ultimate/Created a partition on this drive to install the MAC OSx to.

Currently dual boot with XP Pro and Vista Ultimate.

    Any help appreciated thanks.

Just tried again. Got the screen where it asks to press F8 for boot modes etc.

At the prompt it typed -v, it started to load all the information then just came out with the error message

"FIREWIRE unable to determine security mode - switching to full secure mode"

    Getting really frustrated now.

I wouldn't worry about the firewire driver at this point. Just let it keep booting and report back if it gives you a different error. I have tried installing on my AMD 64 bit Turion with no success. I am very curious to see if you get this working.

I am in the same situation you are, and I have issues also with the keyboard. I use a USB wireless keyboard and mouse Combo and when I type -v they stop working. I will keep an eye on your posts to find some answers for me too.
    Good luck.

I've left it like that for a good 15 - 20 mins and it just repeats the error message.

I'm going to try the iPC distro, as I've read that's supposed to be good for AMD based systems.

OK I've got a lot further with the iPC distro.

Turns out I had to change the onCHIP ATA devices in my bios. I had to change the raid mode from IDE to AHCI.

Once I did this the install was able to read my DVD drive.

I have since gone right through the install process now, to the point where it installs succesfully, but on re-boot I get a kernel panic screen.

    Not sure why.

I have basically installed with the bare minimum of options in the customize part of installion.

Basically just loaded the Voodoo 9.5.0 kernel
    VIA/SAS/SB chipset driver
    seatbelt fix

Everything else is generic. Still wont boot.

    Stuck now.

As for the firewire problem, I would suggest you to just disable the firewire in BIOS.
For the kernel panic, just select the proper kernel, and do not install the chipset drivers.

I've since been able to install OSx Leopard successfully, but only on the Kalyway 10.5.2 distro.

As soon as I try and go for either an updated version, eg 10.5.5 or 10.5.6. Once the install complets, I can boot into the OS. I just get a screen with purple and bluse blocks on it.

Strange thing is I can boot on -x safe boot mode OK. Just no other mode.
