    Unhappy Installing osx86 on hp dv7-1270us

    im looking into dual booting my laptop with vista and osx so that I can utilize Final Cut Pro for my upcoming editing courses. My whole university will be using FCP and i'm more of a Premiere fan, but I need to centralize things on the same os for school and to make my life considerably easy :/

    i love my hp laptop and would like as close to full functionality as possible, i read some stuff on hp dv6's but nothing on dv7? has anyone found stuff for the dv7 series that would qualify for my model specifically? I'm not good at BIOS stuff but I know one or two ppl locally that might help, any detailed diagrams, screenshots, etc I would most greatly appreciate any and all

    I would primarily need wireless, dvd/hd/blue ray drive to work, and my graphics chipset to be as close to full functioning as well, other things would of course help too and any other things that would be the obvious no-brainer heh

    any and all help with this would be awesome

    please reply to this, pm me, and/or email me at hagenpants@live.com

    thanks,
    -HAGEN

    Hello there!

    Im going to install this version of Hackintosh the "iPCx86 UNIVERSAL 10.5.6 PPF5", for me is the best, but there is more like "Hazard Leopard 10.5.6", "iDeneb v1.4 10.5.6" and ""iAtkos 5i 10.5.5" I got a great success with the last but in a Desktop Computer....

    Im going to try to install the "iPCx86 UNIVERSAL 10.5.6 PPF5" in the "HP Pavilion dv7-1270us" and if I get a success I will put it here.

    This is the Configuration for this Laptop "HP Pavilion dv7-1270us"

    Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 2.4 GHz Processor
    3 MB L2 Cache, 1066 MHz Bus speed
    4096 MB DDR2 RAM Max: 8 GB
    320 GB (5400RPM) SATA Hard Drive
    17.0" diagonal WXGA+ (1440 x 900) BrightView Widescreen Display
    Built-in Webcam and Digital Microphone
    NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT with 512MB Dedicated Graphics Memory with up to 2302MB Shared Graphics Memory
    Lightscribe Blu-Ray ROM with SuperMulti Double Layer DVD±R/RW Drive
    Altec Lansing Speakers with Sub-Woofer
    Intel WiFi Link 5100 802.11a/b/g/n Wireless
    Bluetooth
    10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet LAN
    5-in-1 Bridge Media Adapter: MMC, SD, MS, MS Pro, xD
    ExpressCard 54/34 Slot
    3 x USB 2.0, USB 2.0/eSATA, IEEE-1394, 2 x Headphone out; Microphone-in, VGA, HDMI, RJ-11 (Modem), RJ-45
    Approximate Unit Dimensions: 15.59" (W) x 11.22" (D) x 1.66" (H)
    Approximate Unit Weight: 7.64 Pounds

    I can do a DualBoot with "XP-OSX" and with "Vista-OSX" if you want to know just ask, and I will put a guide here

    If you are going to continue trying, HERE you can get some help for the drivers what you have to choose in the CUSTOMIZE.

    This is the CUSTOMIZE configuration for our "dv7-1270us" that Im working on it for our Components, I get some sugerences for a guy that say it's WORK for him in his "HP DV7-1090ed" and Im going to check it out. XD

    * BootLoader don't select anything, it will install the default "Chameleon v1.0.12 with BOOTEFI9"
    * Kernel don't select anything, it will install the default "vanilla 9.6.0"
    * ACPI Kext 10.5.6
    * PS2Fix Mouse
    * PS2Fix Keyboard
    * Audio IDT (full working with out, in and mic)
    * Chipset ICHx Fixed (the orange icons are also fixed)
    * BatteryManager
    * NVdarwin 1.2.5 for 512 (fully works, qe/ci enabled)(YEAH FOR OUR 9600M GT)
    * Ethernet Realtek r1000

    Try it Fellows!! Never give up! xD

    Hello,

    I have a new hp pavilion entertainment dv6t, and have not had any luck with getting osx86 installed. It does install, just get the kernal error. Tried all version. idneb v1.4,Kalway, and iPC. No go.

    It will install on kalway, the system works, but nothing else works, and the screen res is only at 1024 x 768, when i have a 512mb graphics card.

    Any help would be great!

    Here are my specs.

    Hello there man, tnx for your replay I just forget for a sec that your machine is a laptop

    So, you can check your compatibilities HERE (press CTR+F and type: "dv6" your laptop model)

    Also you can try "HAZARD 10.5.6" distribution HERE

    Or this other distribution, the "iAtkos 5i" HERE

    For personal experiences, I can tell you that I get work the "iAtkos 5i" and the "iPCx86 10.5.6 UNIVERSAL".

    Hope to have a great installation man, Have fun!

    ok so i totally forgot about this post and i currently have my dv7 i originally posted..

    dual booting with vista home premium (soon will upgrade to ultimate, waiting on upgrade to 500g hdd) and osx 10.5.6

    i used ideneb 10.5.6 it came with chameleon boot loader.

    boy um.. i found a guide, cant remember where or what? to correctly setup the dual boot on single harddrive..

    it basically consisted of inside vista going into command prompt and partitioning the second (mac) partition, after shrinking default vista partition.. then i went into mac, installed, went into terminal, did a dance, then back into vista, switched to active or something like that, then back to mac, then vista again?

    one of those guides, believe it was somewhere on this website... and this time i have not had a single problem, sept low memory

    i used what's found in the wiki for the guys hp laptop previously listed with a tweak or two:

    * BootLoader don't select anything, it will install the default
    * Kernel don't select anything, it will install the default, (vanilla and voodoo broke stuff)
    * ACPI Kext 10.5.6
    * PS2Fix Mouse \_____you need to make sure the usb family fix is selected too
    * PS2Fix Keyboard /
    * Audio IDT (full working with out, in and mic)
    * Chipset ICHx Fixed
    * BatteryManager
    * NVdarwin 1.2.5 for 512 (fully works, qe/ci enabled)(YEAH FOR OUR 9600M GT)
    * Ethernet Realtek r1000

    -I did not install the ethernet kext listed in the ideneb dvd installer because it didnt seem to work, idk i didnt bother.. just found the working kext from realteks website and under mac osx86 version..
    -----------------------------------------------------------

    i also optionally opted for the smbios macbook pro which isn't needed.

    with all of this installed, I was able to use my 'Microsoft Comfort Optical Mouse 3000' (to be specific) at boot, and as long as I booted with that, My webcam works too!

    **side note: occasionally, usbs dont work, just reboot and you should be good

    if anyone needs the kexts for the ethernet NIC adapter or any specific questions by all means please let me know

    ------------------

    oh and if anyone knows or has any skins or menu bar mods to customize the look please please plase lemme kno
